Happy New Year from One Digital Community of Practice

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a wonderful festive season and is ready and rearing to go!

Here in Edinburgh the sun is shining and we are gearing up for a very busy and exciting few months. With the launch of the shiny new One Digital website in December we in the Community of Practice have a place to share learning, resources and case studies from the fantastic One Digital projects.

Introducing the One Digital Community of Practice

An introduction to the Community of Practice by Kate Gallant, Learning Facilitator.

I joined the One Digital programme in August last year as the Learning Facilitator for the Community of Practice. My experience is in community investment and digital inclusion work most recently in a social housing setting.  My direct experience of working with Digital Champions in a wide variety of locations has given me a strong motivation to share good practice in this area.

Clarion to support 40,000 people to improve their digital skills

One Digital – a pioneering initiative that supports people to improve their digital skills is being extended for a further three years, thanks to £4 million of National Lottery funding from the Big Lottery Fund.

Clarion Housing Group was a founder member of the One Digital programme, which launched in January 2016. Together with the four other partner organisations (Age UK, Citizens Online, Digital Unite and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations), the programme has already helped more than 11,000 people get online and develop basic digital skills.

One Digital and its Programme Director chosen as Digital Leader finalists

One Digital has been successfully chosen as a finalist for this year’s Digital Leaders 100 list in the category, Cross-Sector Digital Collaboration of the Year along with its Programme Director, Emma Weston, in the category Digital Leader of the Year.

The Digital Leaders 100 (DL100) is a national programme that recognises individuals and organisations who demonstrate a pioneering and sustainable approach to digital transformation across the public, private and non-profit sectors. This year’s DL100 is made up of 10 finalists in 10 different categories selected from the nominations by a panel of independent judges.
